Leo's friends at the birth center

Last week I had a check-up with my midwife, Karni, at her birthing center, http://www.venturamidwife.com. I wish I could describe the warm and peaceful energy that this place gives off. It feels almost like my home away from home, like a safe haven. Anyhow, here are a two pictures of Leo with the amazing women who helped care for him before he was even born. Karni, has the dark hair and she is literally the mommy and baby whisperer. Laurel is the blonde. She guided my "spiritual" journey through pregnancy and helped me to prepare emotionally for labor and motherhood. I am forever grateful to them for what they have added to our lives. Here's to knowing these incredible women!

**not sure why the quality of these pics is so poor :(

The smile that melts my heart

Sometimes being a mom is utterly exhausting but with one little smile, my fuel tank is overflowing.....even if I'm running on 5 hours of broken sleep each night. Here's a little clip of our guy discovering his smile.

Baby Leo's Big Boy Bed

My dear friend Chelsea is a talented business woman who started her own baby gear company called Lola Miren. She custom made our little guy's crib bedding. He currently sleeps with Mommy and Daddy but when he's ready (or should I say when I'm ready) this cozy, dreamy, whimsical bed is where he'll lay his gorgeous head. To see Chelsea's other darling fabrics please visit her at www.lolamiren.etsy.com.

FLASHBACK

This was Leo's very first visit to the beach. He was about a week and a half old.

Infant Massage

So my very favorite moments with my son are when he is breast feeding but since I can't post pictures of that, I thought I would post some of my second favorite time with him. I try to do infant massage every day and he absolutely loves it. It's a really neat bonding time for us. Every once in a while he's so dang cute that I have to interrupt the massage and grab the camera for a quick photo. Check out the look on his face!

Superbowl Sunday!

Leo was graced with two sets of VIP visitors on Superbowl Sunday. First Auntie Lisa and Uncle Scott came to visit on their way down south. Then Great Grandma Jane and Auntie Janie arrived all the way from Wisconsin (the cheesy state) to meet the newest member of the family.

Handsome Baby Boy

We had some professional photos taken of our little guy and I HAD to post some because he is so dang precious!

I LOVE MY DADDY!

First Grandchild on both sides

Leo has been given so much love and we have been blessed with tremendous support from four doting grandparents.

Baby Leo's first crush

Auntie Mindy came to visit Leo and he may have fallen in love with her. She may have fallen in love with him, too. She also brought him an adorable musical Mickey Mouse hand picked from Disneyland.

Bath Time for Leo

Since I am technologically deficient and can't figure out how to post a Youtube video to my blog, here is a link to a cute video of one of Baby Leo's baths.  It's a little snapshot into how Jon and I are learning to be parents.
